Day 1
Enjoy the beauty of Pennsylvania as you travel to the sandy shores of Cape Cod. Extending some 70 miles into the sea, the Cape is home to both natural beauty and quaint colonial villages. Overnight in Connecticut.
Day 2
Travel over the Cape Cod Canal into Sandwich - the oldest town on Cape Cod. This quaint and quiet seaside community is the hometown of Thornton Burgess, naturalist and author of 170 children's books.
Visit the Heritage Museums & Gardens in Sandwich, MA. Heritage offers one hundred acres of trees, shrubs, flowers, and sweeping lawns. Be sure to visit the JK Lilly III Automobile Collection Museum, the American History Museum, and the Art Museum featuring an operating, hand-carved Carousel made in 1912. Also, featured, is the Old East Windmill built in 1800 which was moved from Orleans to Heritage in 1968.

Day 3
Experience a high speed, one-hour ferry ride as the Hy-Line sails to the cobblestone streets of Nantucket Island - “The Little Grey Lady”, 30 miles to sea. Please remember to wear comfortable walking shoes for the cobblestone streets and brick sidewalks that line Nantucket’s downtown area.
Upon arrival, your guide will point out the restaurants, galleries, shops, and museums that are within walking distance of the dock. After arrival, enjoy a Nantucket Island Tour. Explore the Nantucket Whaling Museum (at your leisure). The museum houses a large collection of whaling artifacts and memorabilia, including longboats, harpoons, and scrimshaw, but the centerpiece is the complete skeleton of a 46-foot (14 meter) bull sperm whale suspended from the ceiling.
Day 4
This morning, you will travel historic Route 6A, the Old King’s Highway, a scenic byway winding through centuries of Cape Cod history. It winds past hundreds of historic structures which characterize its early development. View a Windmill, a Cape Cod Lighthouse and visit the Cape Cod National Seashore Visitor’s Center. Sand dunes and the ocean surround you as you approach “Land’s End” – Provincetown. You are now at the extreme tip of Cape Cod. Formerly known as the “Province Lands” the pilgrims landed here first before they decided to settle across the Bay in Plymouth. Take some time to enjoy the wonderful variety of restaurants, shops, and galleries that make this artists/fishermen village so unique.
Board an excursion vessel for an amazing experience of Whale Watching. (3 hours) You will travel into the natural habitat of a diverse marine environment including birds that migrate here from all over the Atlantic, and fish which use these shallow waters to feed. Try to spot Humpback, Minke, and Fin Whales going about their daily business. An onboard naturalist will introduce you to everything you see and will answer any of your questions about the whales, birds, fish and lighthouses.

You may choose to stay on dry land and enjoy an one-hour Dune Tour. Ride in a suburban vehicle along the shoreline of the protected lands of the Cape Cod National Seashore. Your guide will point out the “dune shacks” where famous artists and writers became inspired to create their art.
Day 5
This morning, ferry to the island of Martha’s Vineyard. Upon arrival you will board a local bus for a sightseeing tour. You will learn about the history and lifestyles of the islanders as you pass through Vineyard Haven.
There will be free time for lunch and shopping in the historic whaling town of Edgartown.
Complete your day on the island in Oak Bluffs. You may choose to stroll through “Cottage City” with its brightly painted cottages and decorative “gingerbread” trim. Lobster Dinner is included this evening.
Day 6
Today you will travel to America’s Hometown – Plymouth - Home of our Pilgrim Fathers and one of the country’s first settlements. A picture stop will be made at the Forefather’s Monument, the largest, solid granite monument in the United States. She stands facing the harbor, welcoming those who come by water. A picture stop will also be made at the Plymouth Rock, the traditional site of disembarkation of the Pilgrims in 1620. View the newly restored Mayflower II, a reproduction of the ship that brought the Pilgrims to the New World.
Board a Lobster Tales Cruise to learn about the many creatures that live-in Plymouth Harbor. Experience a “hands on” approach to see how lobsters are harvested from their natural environment. Roll up your sleeves to help haul in lobster traps.
There will be free time on the waterfront for lunch and shopping on your own. Overnight in Connecticut.
Day 7
Your journey home will be filled with many fond memories of Cape Cod.
