Day 1
Come and Celebrate America’s 250th Birthday in Ohio!
Travel to Canton, Ohio to see the McKinley Museum. After a light lunch you will tour the MAPS Museum at the Akron Canton Airport. Visit the Gallery of Heroes, replica MASH unit, and enjoy a tour of the hanger with restored aircrafts by local veterans, and enjoy a special guest visit by General Dwight E. Eisenhower!
Next travel to the National First Ladies Library and Museum, showcasing the lives and history of our First Ladies! This is the only museum of it’s kind in the US!
Check into your hotel before going to the Amish Door Milana Ballroom for a plated dinner, with a patriotic theme! Enjoy Birthday Cake and Party Favors!
After dinner enjoy the show “Salute to Old Glory” by Vane Scott II. This fun and energetic one man show will take you back in time to view the many flags our country had before our beloved “Stars and Bars” we have now! Vane’s father created this show and performed it for audiences!
Day 2
Enjoy breakfast before checking out of the hotel. Arrive at David Warther Carvings and enjoy the hand carved 90 plus sailing ships. You will get a guided tour and you can meet David and see how he creates them right there in his workshop! These are priceless works of art!
At Heini’s Cheese there are over 20 varieties of locally made cheese, featuring their famous yogurt cheese!
Lunch will be a buffet at Farmstead Restaurant. (L)
After lunch you will arrive at the Amish Country Theater to see Dave Banks Big Band USO Show “America Remembers!” Enjoy over 7 decades of live big band orchestra, and singers showcasing the USO Style shows during wartime years along with a special salute to our Veterans!
Stop at Walnut Creek Cheese, the largest bulk food store in the area, before departing for Pittsburgh.
