Here at Rydell High’s senior class of 1959: duck-tailed, hot-rodding “Burger Palace Boys” and their gum-snapping, hip-shaking “Pink Ladies” in bobby sox and pedal pushers, evoking the look and sound of the 1950s in this rollicking musical. Hear “grease” Danny Zuko and new (good) girl Sandy Dumbrowski try to relive the high romance of their “Summer Nights” as the rest of the gang sings and dances it way through such songs as “Greased Lightnin’, “It’s Raining on Prom Night” and “Alone at the Drive-In Movie,” recalling the music of Buddy Holly, Little Richard and Elvis Presley that became the soundtrack of the generation.


Travel to Clark, PA to enjoy lunch and a tour at Tara - A Country Inn, the 1854 mansion that offers southern hospitality and was inspired by the greatest movie of our time, Gone With the Wind.

Then you will travel to Meadville, Pennsylvania to see “Grease” at the Academy Theater of Meadville. From the time it opened, the Academy Theatre housed local productions and hosted touring vaudeville shows. In the early 1900’s it began showing films, and through 1980, it was known mostly as a movie theater. After a fire in the mid-80’s, a group of citizens came together to save the ailing building. These “Friends” of the Academy restored the theatre to its original beauty and since then it has regained its status as Meadville’s home for all varieties of artistic and cultural events.
