Day 1
Join us as we travel to the beautiful Finger Lakes region of New York State! Enjoy a 50-minute sightseeing cruise on Seneca Lake. Discover the beauty and charm of Seneca Lake as it can only be seen from the water and will be captivated by Hector Falls at 165 ft., the majestic cliffs of the east shore with Native American paintings, and a view of the salt industry. Enjoy a wine tasting at an area winery. Lodging for the next two nights will be in Corning, NY. It is a non-smoking property.
DDay 2
Visit the Glenn H. Curtiss Museum. Glenn Curtiss was an American aviation and motorcycling pioneer, and a founder of the U.S. aircraft industry. The museum contains a priceless collection relating to early aviation and regional history. Enjoy an included lunch and wine tasting at a local winery.
Next, a photo-op at Taughannock Falls Overlook in Ulysses, NY. Enjoy wonderful views of the falls cataract with a drop of 215 feet making it one of the highest east of the Rocky Mountains. Enjoy a tour of Mark Twain’s Elmira. Mark Twain used an outbuilding on his wife's family's property to do his writing. That octagonal building that he used as his study was moved to the campus of Elmira College, and the tour will visit his study and the exhibit at Elmira College. The tour also includes history of Elmira's origins, drive through its 3 historic districts, Underground Railroad sites, local involvement with the Civil War, local sports history and more.
Day 3
Start your day with a visit to Christ Episcopal Church and its stained glass windows by Tiffany. Enjoy a visit to the Corning Museum of Glass in Corning, NY, with time for self-guided touring, and browsing in its wonderful gift shop before departing for home.
