Day 1

Travel along the famous Route 66 from Chicago to St. Louis. Established in 1926, it is known as the "Mother Road" and is a symbol of American road trip culture, passing through many small and very unique towns. Travel to Chicago for your overnight.

Day 2

Begin your nostalgic road trip at the Historic Begin Route 66 Sign in Chicago. Visit the Joliet Area Historic Museum, home to the Official Route 66 Visitor Center. Lunch is included at the Old Route 66 Restaurant. Today, there will be photo ops of The Gemini Giant, the 19-foot Paul Bunyan Statue, and the World’s Largest Railsplitter Covered Wagon. You will also stop at Funk’s Grove Maple Sirup and the IL Route 66 Association Hall of Fame & Museum. Spend two nights in Springfield, IL.

Day 3

Enjoy a visit to the Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum before continuing on Route 66. Stop at the Ace Sign Company Sign Museum along with a photo op of the Lauterbach Muffler Man. Dinner is included at Route 66 Motorheads Bar & Grill before seeing the Route 66 Experience at the Illinois State Fairgrounds.

Day 4

Today, enjoy a photo op of the World’s Largest Catsup Bottle before continuing on to St. Louis. Visit the Old Chain Rocks Bridge, the Gateway Arch, and Ted Drewes Frozen Custard. Overnight in St. Louis, MO.

Travel to Kentucky. On the way, see some more of Route 66’s Largest Items. Enjoy a dinner cruise of the BB Riverboat. Overnight in Newport, KY.

Day 6

Take a tour of Jungle Jim’s International Market before a guided tour of Cincinnati’s German Village, and an included lunch at Schmidt’s Sausage Haus. Depart for Pittsburgh with fond memories of the magic of Route 66.

Insurance: Travel insurance is optional. To be eligible for the waiver of pre-existing medical condition exclusion, the protection plan must be purchased within 21 days from the time you make your initial deposit and for the prepaid non-refundable payments or deposits. If purchased, the insurance premium is refundable during the 21-day review period, unless you have filed a claim or departed on your trip.
