Day 1

Travel to Dover, Ohio where you will start your morning visiting the home of Warther Museum. Experience the story of the Warther Family and see how their beloved hobbies of carving, button collecting and knife making have left behind an amazing family legacy. This family-owned museum and gardens has numerous displays of incredible hand carvings of Ernest “Mooney”. These carvings were valued “priceless” works of art by the Smithson Institution. The ivory Carved “Lincoln Funeral Train” is a must see! The museum will leave a lasting impression on your soul!

Enjoy a family style lunch at Der Dutchman Restaurant before going to shop at Sol’s Exchange!  The three stores: Sol's Palace, Sol's Exchange, and Sol's Kit-N-Kaboodle are brimming with an exciting assortment of crafts. Wood crafts, handmade dolls, goose clothes, candles, ceramics, and floral arrangements are just a few of the numerous items available to provide customers with one stop shopping.

Looking for something sweet or healthy? Hershberger’s Farm and Truck Patch sells mouth watering pastries, homegrown fruits and vegetables when in season, preserves and more. Animal petting area, buggy rides and fun for the whole family awaits visitors.

The final stop of the day is Guggisberg Cheese, who are famous for being the home of the Original Baby Swiss! They are one of the larges manufacturers of Swiss cheese in the United States, and one of the largest manufacturers in Ohio!

What a great day in Amish Country!
