Day 1
Travel to Morgantown, WV, where you will meet your guide for the day! The first stop of the day is Apple Annies Bakery! You will receive a complimentary small breakfast of one of their famous 4 oz. oatmeal and raisin cookies, and coffee, tea, milk or juice. Their pastries, pies, cookies and food are legendary. Their cookies have been nominated by USA Today as one of the best in the Country!
A stop at Mal’s Produce Stand - everyone’s favorite and largest in the area for fresh produce! A hop-on-guide will give you the tour and history of the Don Knotts Statue, and the history of Downtown Morgantown during this tour. There will be time to shop at The Hoot and Howl, Appalachian Gallery, and the River Fair Trade. Browse other charming Artisan and Antiques Shoppes in town and be amazed at the low prices of quality artisan works!
Lunch will be at the Tea Shoppe. This beautiful shop is embedded in the Seneca Center, a historic reinvented glass factory building. The atmosphere is eclectic and historic at the same time. The Tea Shoppe is well-known for its amazing varieties of teas, sandwiches, pastries and best of all - Scones! The Tea Shoppe has a variety of items for sale, including their delicious teas to purchase and enjoy at home! There will be time tor browse the Seneca Center following lunch.
Nestled in the Appalachian Mountains of north central West Virginia is Forks of Cheat Winery and Distillery! This winery produces a wide variety of prize-winning wines with an old-world tradition. Enjoy some tastings served with cheese and crackers while relaxing on their patio and take in the Wild Wonderful West Virginia beauty of the hills and forests.
The final stop for the day will be Miller’s Greenhouse! This is a destination greenhouse filled with tons of flowers and plants. You will receive a plastic “thank you” bag from your guide to put your plants into carry home!
